Indications Active primary & booster immunisation of infants & toddlers for protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B & invasive illness caused by Hib.

Dosage Infant (1st yr of life) Primary vaccination 3 doses of 0.5 mL each, at least 1 mth apart, starting as early as 6 wk of age. Toddler (13-24 mth after birth) Reinforcing vaccination 1 booster dose of 0.5 mL. Administer IM in the anterolateral thigh or alternatively in the deltoid region in childn 13-24 mth after birth.

Overdosage View Quinvaxem overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Contraindications Hypersensitivity. Encephalopathy of unknown aetiology after a previous vaccination w/ pertussis vaccine.

Special Precautions Postpone vaccination in case of acute febrile illness. Careful consideration should be taken before administration of pertussis-containing vaccine if any of the following is observed: Temp 40°C, collapse or shock, persistent crying lasting >3 hr w/in 48 hr after vaccination; convulsions w/ or w/o fever w/in 3 days after vaccination. Avoid inj into a blood vessel. Thrombocytopenia or bleeding disorder.
